Background

Jim Mason is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with decades of experience building and scaling successful companies across multiple industries in the Pacific Northwest.

A 1979 graduate of Central Washington University, Jim spent more than 20 years in international commodity trading, specializing in log exports to Asian markets. He founded and operated Mason Timber Company, which grew into one of the largest family-owned timber harvesting companies in the Northwest United States.

Recognizing opportunities beyond timber, Jim diversified into commercial real estate through Mason Properties, where he developed and managed a portfolio of buildings with a particular emphasis on medical and professional office space.

In the energy sector, he built Masco Petroleum into one of Washington State’s largest independent providers of commercial cardlock fueling, marine fueling, and lubricant distribution. Under the Masco umbrella, Masco Maritime managed waterfront fueling operations and marina facilities.

Jim also established complementary transportation and logistics businesses, including Mason Trucking and Trailer Service, which specialized in heavy-haul transport of construction, logging equipment, and general freight. Additionally, he founded Mason Aviation, owning and operating both helicopter and fixed-wing jet aircraft for business.

With deep expertise in natural resources, energy distribution, real estate development, maritime operations, transportation, and aviation, Jim brings strategic insight, operational discipline, and a proven record of building sustainable, high-performing enterprises to advisory roles.
